Crooks Thwarted By Citroën C2

It’s official: the Citroën C2 is one of Australia’s hardest hatchbacks, proving once again that size is no substitute for smarts and strength.

The Citroën C2 three-door hatch was announced by The National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council as one of Australia’s nine most secure cars, keeping company with vehicles such as the Audi A8 limousine, BMW X3 soft-roader and the Audi Q7 five-door wagon.

Citroën’s engineers have employed thoughtful design to make the C2 harder to steal. The remote central locking not only engages deadlocks, but also triggers a sophisticated immobiliser.

In the context of recent car-jackings, the Citroën C2 is also more secure on the move. The boot automatically locks when driving, and the doors can be instantly dead-bolted via a clearly-marked button on the dashboard.

Thanks to its powerful remote, the Citroën C2 can also be quickly identified and unlocked from a distance, with hazard and courtesy lights signalling the way in dark laneways or car parks. Finally, the Citroën C2 protects itself against misfortune by requiring two presses of the remote to unlock.

The new award is just the latest confirmation that the Citroën C2 is not only stylish, but is also smart, strong and secure.
